About Us

What is a Soroptimist?

An organization dedicated to assisting women and girls, Soroptimist aims to create true social and economic equality for women and girls. As a public service, Soroptimist provides white papers on various topics relevant to women that can help those who wish to become more educated about issues facing today’s women, or learn what can be done to provide direct assistance to women in need.

The majority of Soroptimist's work to improve the lives of women and girls is done at the local club level. Soroptimist International of the Americas has more than 1,400 clubs in 19 countries and territories. Clubs assess the needs of their communities and then undertake projects that will best fill those needs. Soroptimist clubs receive assistance in their volunteer efforts by participating locally in programs developed and sponsored by the Soroptimist organization.
